Thank You Mrs. Johnson...

Your efforts as an early conservationist have not gone unnoticed.. your love of beauty and nature.. are evident every year as the flowers along the hiways and biways of Texas explode with the colors of the Bluebonnets...

We also see the native paintbrushes..

The beautiful displays of color blossoming every year brings about the ideas of change.. of newness.. of the hope that springs eternal as we try and find our way through this life.

Thank you for that gift you gave us. Thank you for being the example of a Texas gentlewoman.. one with a natural ability to charm those around you.. one who embraced Texas as her home.. and showed our country and the world.. that Texas women are gentle, strong, courageous and caring. They are mothers, grandmothers. wives, sisters , aunts, and at the same time savvy enough to build a business empire from the ground up and never lose sight of those things that are truly important.. your love of family and country. Those always remained in your actions.

You will be missed Lady Bird. Go now.. and rest.. you deserve it...

We have a US highway here that for a stretch over half the state is adorned with poppies. It is such a beautiful drive. Thanks to Lady Bird's project.
