Lucky for Ya'll.. A Double Post

I just wanted to include this.. cause I write when I am sad.. and I am sad... Here's the thing.. When I started working at the airport.. I hadn't had what I would call a lot of "friends" in my life. I had a couple.. but what I found with the group of guys I worked with there.. was a family. They looked out for each other.. they fought with each other.. and they worked as a team.. I was lucky to become a part of that family.. They accepted me .. they knew my past and my present.. they knew I was a lesbian.. It didn't matter.. we grew very close some of us... Even now.. after we all got broken up with the closing of the trains.. we have kept in touch.. we have parties.. domino games.. poker nights.. I went and helped a guy raise his carport 2 feet so he could fit his RV under it... guys came over and helped me sheet rock.. and texture my ceiling...

We go out to eat for no reason.. I'm just sayin.. we have fun.. we are close.. and having friends like that who don't lose touch.. is something that still surprises me.. It's new.. and I like it..

Well we lost one of our own last night... he went to sleep and woke up in Heaven.. He just had twin grandbabies born yesterday... the Good Lord giveth and the Good Lord taketh away... His daughter got 2 new angels while his wife lost hers..

Married for over 30 years.. I never heard him say a bad word about his wife.. he always called her Babe.. I think it was 5 years before I knew what her real name was.. They both though the other could do no worng.. I liked that about them...

He is also the one who gave me my nickname of Bambam... I am tellin ya.. wreck just ONE train... but thats a story for another time.. My Valentine.. always thought his name was "Shut up Jimmy" cause she heard me say that so many times.. :::soft smile::: He used to tell me.."You know why we are both still here don't ya?... God protects idiots and junkies". Then he would just laugh...Dammit.. I am gonna miss him..

If you are so inclined.. please offer up a prayer for the family right now.. I am sure they could use it.. And.. tell your friends that you love... that you love them.. it is always good to know..

Jimmy .... I hope they have Golf in Heaven... rest well my friend... you will be missed...
