A little over 9 years ago... My oldest brother told me.. "You are a (Insert special surname here).. face it.. You are a junkie." Well.. ok.. so some things big brother tells you are a fact... That and Dad is the Easter Bunny...
Well.. tonight I picked up said brother from the bus station.. and took him to the mission.. He has been living under a bridge down by Houston for the last couple years.. Yeah.. He said Ike was a bitch to ride out... Anyway... Brother forgot that he too is a (Insert special surname here) and he is a junkie.. He thought a beer was ok to have on the weekend.. then a 6 pack.. then a case.. then some heroin.. and well.. the slippery slope slides down into losing the job.. the house.. the wife.. and on it goes...
He finally gave up the fight after another stint as a guest of the State of Texas.. county style... Hopefully.. he will put forth the effort and do what he needs to do now.. Screening.. assessment.. and rehab.... oh my...
So... off and running to complete the circle again... its very close...

You're are EXHIBIT A that it can be done, Bammy. Your brother can turn himself around and you're the inspiration for it, if he chooses to observe. I hope he does.
